Assam National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) 2018 – 2019:  The State Council for Educational Research and Training was given the first level of the National Talent Search Examination (NTSE) examination for Class X. Assam NTSE 2018 application letter, admission letter, date of examination, date of result and other information are described below.

Assam NTSE Result 2018-19

The result of the Assam NTSE 2018-2019 Stage I test for the examination to be held on November 5, 2018, has been announced. Candidates can see merit list of selected candidates for NTSE phase, which is recommended for NSSE Phase II for Assam State through the link given below.

Eligibility Criteria

Students of Class-X studying in Government, Local Body, Govt. Aided, Private Schools are eligible to appear for Stage –I examination.

Qualifying Marks: Qualifying marks for candidates from the General category are 40% in each paper and for candidates from SC, ST, and PH is 32% in each paper.

Application Form

Students can visit the official website www.madhyamik.in to submit the application online. Candidates are carefully advised to go through eligibility criteria before applying. Candidates can also apply NTSE to Class X from the official website.

Steps to be followed by candidates

  1. Documents required for Online Form submission
    • Scanned copy of Candidate’s Photograph.
    • Scanned copy of Candidate’s Signature.
    • Scanned copy of Candidate’s Declaration by Gazetted Officer.
    • Scanned copy of Candidate’s Caste certificate (Only for SC and ST candidates).
    • Scanned copy of Candidate’s Disability certificate (Disabled candidates).
  2. Please download and print the Declaration by Gazetted Officer, and get it filled up by the head of the Institution / Gazetted Officer. Scan the same and keep it ready while online form submission you will need to upload it.
  3. Candidates should use Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome for best results
  4. Applicants must have a valid email ID
  5. Before filling, read online application instructions carefully.
  6. Fill the online application form carefully and upload the scanned photo and signature (the size and sign of the photo should not be more than 35KB, 30KB, respectively. The photo and signature should be in '.jpeg' or '.jpg' format). It should be without cap or glasses Eyeglasses are allowed, candidates who do not follow these instructions or unclear images will be rejected.
  7. There is a provision to change the online application form before submission. However, before submitting the submit button candidate, the entries in the application form should be verified. There is no provision to make changes in the online application form after clicking on the Submit button.

  9. After submitting the online application form, you should take SBI Bank e-challan printout which is in two parts. You can log in with your password and after successful payment, you can print out your online submission form.
  10. The required fee is printed on your SBI bank e-challan. With this e-challan, from the second working day in any branch of the State Bank of India, pay the fee on the day of e-challan printing. Do not forget to submit your copy of the e-challan to the journal ID/transaction ID after depositing the fee.
  11. If any mistake is made during submission of the online application by the applicant, he can deposit it by filling out another online application before the deadline.
  12. Please note that if you make a mistake in filling the online application form, then it cannot be cured by the Directorate of Secondary Education Guwahati, Assam. Director of Secondary Education Guwahati, Assam will not take any kind of responsibility for such mistakes.
  13. Applicant's email id and mobile number will be used for further communication.

How to deposit fee

  • Fee: Rs. 150 / - per student per Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe Rs. 100
  • In order to submit the online application, the candidates will have to submit the fee by e-challan in online SBI branch in any SBI branch. The last date for depositing the fees in the bank is 25 September 2018.

Admit Card

  • The admission form for the candidate will be available online. The candidate can download his admission form by putting his application or username in accordance with the scheduled time. If any candidate fails to submit the required information or deposit the required fee then his application will be rejected and no entry letter will be issued against him.

Examination Centre

Stage-I NTSE Examination will be held at almost all the District Headquarters. However, the center of examination may be increased or decreased by the authority depending upon the number of candidates for the Examination from the District.

 

Selection Procedure

There will be the two-stage selection process for award of scholarship. Stage-I, selection will be done by State /UT and those who qualify Stage-I will be eligible to appear for Stage-II examination, conducted by NCERT.

Reservation

Assam State quota is 89

  • 15% Scholarship will be reserved for students belonging SC category.
  • 5% Scholarship will be reserved for students belonging SC category and
  • 3% for Physically Challenged Group of Students.

Scholarship

About One thousand scholarships are awarded for different stages of education as follows:

  • Scholarship of Rs. 1250/- per month for Class XI to XII.
  • Scholarship of Rs. 2000/- per month for Undergraduates and Post-graduates.
  • Amount of Scholarship for Ph.D. be fixed in accordance with the UGC norms.
