About D.A.V. Schools in India
The D.A.V. College Managing Committee, familiarly known as DAVCMC, is a non-governmental educational organisation in India and overseas with over 800+ schools, 75+ colleges and a university. It is based on the ideals of the religious and social reformer, Swami Dayanand Saraswati. The Dayanand Anglo-Vedic education system also comprises colleges offering graduate and post-graduate degrees in various areas of study all over India.
Founded in 1886 in Lahore by the efforts of Mahatma Hansraj, these schools are run by the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College Trust and Management Society, also commonly known as the Dayanand Anglo-Vedic Education Society. It holds the record for producing the largest number of CBSE (class Xth and XIIth) toppers as a single institution in the last 10 years. Today, institutional records of the D.A.V. College Trust and Management Society are part of the archives at the Nehru Memorial Museum & Library, at Teen Murti House, Delhi.
English is the primary language of instruction, with students also receiving compulsory education in Hindi and Sanskrit or a regional language. Presently, the DAV movement has grown to become the single largest non-governmental educational society in the country, managing 750+ educational institutions, apart from D.A.V. Public Schools spread over the country and even in foreign lands, with an annual budget of more than INR ₹2 billion. It employs 50,000+ people and educates more than 20 lakh students every year.

The test will be held for English, Hindi, Mathematics and/or any other subject which may be considered necessary.
- The selection of the candidates will depend upon the child's performance in the test/interview and availability of seats in the concerned class.
- Assessment of the child for admission is also based on the following factors:
- Academic readiness and motivation.
- Social and emotional development.
- Family co-operation in working with the school and meeting the needs of the students.
- Ability of the school to serve the needs of the child.
- The date of the result of the interview & the last date for the submission of fee will be specified at the time of the test/interview.

Fees Structure of D.A.V. Schools in India
Even as anxiety prevails among parents over fee charged by schools despite the Fee Regulation Act, the state government has clarified that parents should pay provisional fee for year 2018-19 as decided by the schools till the matter is pending before the Supreme Court.
However, the government said that the Fee Regulation Act has come into effect from academic year 2017-18 and hence once the fee regulatory committee is formed and decided the fee, the schools will be mandated to reimburse the excess fee charged with retrospective effect.
Requirements / Vacancies for Teachers at D.A.V. Schools in India
For teachers in D.A.V. schools in India a bachelor's degree is the minimum educational requirement for a private school teacher. Private schools typically prefer to hire graduates with either a 4-year subject degree or expertise in a specialized field, such as history or mathematics. Many private schools offer fellowships or internships to qualified applicants after they graduate from college. Fellows and interns complete on-the-job training, learn the specific teaching theory of the private school and are supervised by fellow teachers.
Some private schools require a state teacher license or other specialized certification. Certain private Catholic schools require a 2-year course of study focused on principles of Catholic education, completion of a teaching internship and practice of the Catholic faith before one can earn a certification to teach in Catholic schools. Schools with specific philosophies, such as Waldorf or Montessori schools, also require additional Waldorf or Montessori teacher education and training. It is important to research the private school of interest to determine whether a particular degree, certification or training is required.
Students to Teacher Ratio at D.A.V. Schools in India
The Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009 in its Schedule lays down Pupil Teacher Ratio (PTR) for both primary and upper primary schools. At primary level the PTR should be 30:1 and at the upper primary level it should be 35:1. The Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA) framework stipulates that the PTR at secondary level should be 30:1. As per Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) the PTR at national level for elementary schools is 24:1 and for secondary schools it is 27:1. The PTR in most of the States and UTs is found to be satisfactory. However, since some schools have lesser teachers than the required number, it is clear that while there are sufficient teachers, the main issue is their correct deployment. The students to teacher ratio in most of D.A.V. School branches is 17:1.
