Himachal Pradesh NMMS 2018 - 2019 - State Educational Research and Training Council, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) has proposed to organize National Instrument-cum-Merit Scholarship (NMMS) for Class VIII in various centers of Himachal Pradesh in November.
Under the NMMS scheme, 832 scholarships for HP students are given by Ministry of Human Resource Development, New Delhi. Scholarship of value Rs. 500 / - per month for eligible poor students will be awarded from Class IX to XII i.e. 4 years. Schedule for Class 8 for Himachal Pradesh NMMS 2018 - 2019 is given below:

Application / Exam Fee
- 40/- for General Category
- 30/- for SC/ST/PCG
Eligibility Criteria
- Any regular student of class VIII may be appearing in the academic session of 2017-2018, if he scores 55% or more on the aggregate in class VII, then up to 5% up to the scheduled caste / scheduled tribe / PCG It is possible.
- The student should study in government / local bodies / 95% government-assisted private schools
- The income of the candidate's parents should be less than Rs. 1,50,000 / - per year (Income certificate issued by SDM / Tehsildar / Nayed Tehsildar should be attached in the original) Candidates belonging to SC / ST should have attached a certified copy of scheduled caste / scheduled tribe certificate issued by SDM / Tahsildar / Naib Tehsildar.
- Candidates belonging to the CWSN category (children with special needs) should attach a photocopy of the certificate issued by CMO (Chief Medical Officer). The physically handicapped limit should be 40% or above.
• Addressing a stamped envelope to one himself, Rs. 5 / - should be attached to the application otherwise admission will not be sent.
Admit Card
Candidates make sure that the admission form is attached to the application form. After the roll number allotment, it will be returned to the candidates. Ensure that the candidate will bring the admission letter to the examination center on the examination date.
Exam Pattern
The examination conducts in two sessions on the same day.
Candidates will have to take the examination as per details are given below.
- Mental Ability Test (MAT)
- Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) which includes the test in Language comprehensive and Aptitude Test separately.
- Students shall have to opt for English or Hindi in LT.
Each question carries 1 mark. There will be no negative marking at state level exam.
Selection Process
- NMMS is only one step of the selection process for the scholarship.
- There will be three tests in the examination, including the Mental Ability Exam (MAT), Language Examination (LT) and Educational Qualification Test (SAT).
- There will be no negative marking
The minimum qualifying marks for general category candidates are 40% and for SC / ST / PCG 32%.
- For the selection of candidates for scholarship, will be prepared according to the eligibility quota and norms at the district level.
- Scholarships will be given to those eighth candidates who earn 55% or more marks in class VIII. 5% discount for Schedule Caste / Scheduled Tribes / PCG

State Council of Educational Research and Training, Solan (Himachal Pradesh) has published a list of temporarily selected candidates for National Minute-cum-Merit Scholarship, before the examination was held on November 06, 2016. Candidates are now able to investigate results for similar purposes.
