CBSE has declared the results of its compartment exams on 17^th August. Students can check their results on the official website of CBSE. The detailed steps are as follows:

2. Click on the link for Class 10 results (or Class 12)
3. Enter the Roll no., School no. and Date of Birth as printed on your Hall Ticket
4. Click submit and your result will be displayed
5. Download and check your result for future reference

CBSE 10^th Compartment Result

The compartment exams also called as the improvement exams are conducted by CBSE for students who failed to clear a subject during the March annual exam. The results of the March annual exams were declared on 2^nd June 2017. The overall pass result dropped from 96.21% in 2016 to 90.95% (a drop of 5%).

Need for the Class 12 Compartment Exams?

Every year the class 12 Board exams are conducted in the month of March. CBSE conducts the compartment or the improvement exams so as to give a second chance for the students who were unfortunate enough to not be able to clear a subject in the March exams.

The current Class X batch students will appear for the Board exam on March 5, which will be the first mandatory public exam of CBSE after eight years. CBSE had introduced the Comprehensive and Continuous Evaluation (CCE) scheme along with the optional Board exam of which most students took the school-based exam.

According to the notification issued by CBSE chairperson Anita Karwal, the examination committee in its meeting recently agreed to give one-time exemption to the Class 10 students as they will be the first batch to have a compulsory Board exam. This news should bring some relief to the young minds preparing for their upcoming exams.

This rule will also apply for students with subjects under National Skills Qualifications Framework scheme for the 5 key subjects — 2 languages, Science, Mathematics and Social Science. The provision of replacement of subjects has been extended to the NSQF students “for the failed subjects (out of the three subjects – science, maths and social science) by the vocational subject (passed by the candidate under NSQF) would continue to apply”. However, for vocational subjects listed in Annexure I, which were notified on March 9, 2017, there will be no exemption from separate pass criteria as the internal assessment of these subjects comprise of 50 marks.
